A couple of months ago I did a photo shoot for Be Truly Well Chiropractic & Day Spa in Newark, Delaware. I managed to get some great shots of the spa staff, but I couldn’t fit Dr. West in. I returned this week just before leaving the U.S. back to England and we spent his lunch hour shooting the below shots. We only had an hour to shoot, so we had to make it fast. I think we did alright though. Dr. West has some incredible information about the body. He’s a true professional. I urge everyone to visit his website; Be Truly Well.
I have only two more weeks here in the U.S. And I’m taking the opportunity to travel and do some of the jobs I’ve been meaning to get to for a while. The below shots are for a realty company in Clearwater, Florida. Venie Brinson Realtor is actually the oldest continually run Realtor in Clearwater, so it was pretty great that I got the chance to shoot one of the owners and her favorite Realtor.
My intention was to give them both a welcoming demeanor and show that they are two people you can trust and do business with. I particularly like the shot in the kitchen with Lou. The Red mixer matched Lou’s tie.
All shots are with my Canon 5D Mark II and 580 EX II Strobe shot through an umbrella.
Sometimes I get to photograph a company that is changing this planet for the better. Smart Way Reading and Spelling is just such a company. What could be better than to have a business where you teach kids how to read and write? When I got the call to photograph some students using the program I was thrilled. I have never been a person that just wanted to go out and make money, regardless of the product I’m pushing. That’s one of the reasons I opted to reduce my time as a marketing consultant, and increase my time as a photographer. I couldn’t continue to market companies I didn’t believe in. With Smart Way Reading and Spelling I get the pleasure of ensuring that the company has excellent photos for their marketing and promotional purposes, as well as satisfying my need to contribute to this society.
I had the pleasure of photographing the second business to incorporate both a Chiropractic practice and Day Spa into one in the United States. This is a radical concept. Dr. Jeffrey West, of Be Truly Well Chiropractic and Day Spa in Newark, Delaware asked me to come by while I was in the area and take some photos of his staff. This is the first in a 2 part series I will be doing for Be Truly Well. Not all of the staff are there at the same time, which makes a one-day shoot impossible. But I was very happy with the first round of shots. As you can see from the photos the staff are very friendly looking and the premises are amazing. Their logo colors are purple and green and it is reflected all over the practice. So I tried to include those colors in the images as much as possible. With green walls and purple shirts, it wasn’t hard.
Thanks Dr. West, I’m looking forward to round two.
I am currently in the U.S. for the holidays and I got a call to do a photo shoot for an eye doctor in Delaware. One of the largest optometrists in Delaware, actually. Simon Eye Associates. There are 6 locations, 13 doctors and many, many employees. It’s a really great environment. As you can tell from the photos. All of the employees and doctors are very friendly and really photograph well. This was a great assignment.
All photos were taken with my Canon 5d Mark II and 24-105mm f4 L lens. I used a Pocket Wizard Transmitter and Transceiver, with a Canon Speedlite 580EX II flash, mounted on a Manfrotto stand, with a 43″ Westcott umbrella and large reflector. With such a small, portable studio, the results are really amazing. Just shows, you don’t need multiple strobes, or huge, elaborate studios to get good results.
Below are a few of my favorites from my time at Simon Eye.
