The beautiful weather continues and thank goodness because I had two engagement shoots this past weekend. Carrie and Ashley were up first and I decided to take them to one of my favorite wedding venues, The Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club in Sussex.
I have so much respect for this landmark hotel, not just because of how beautiful it is, but because my wife and I were married there five years ago and I know every inch of it. Although Carrie and Ashley aren’t getting married at the Ashdown Park Hotel, they kindly agreed to do their engagement shoot there and I’m thankful they did.
There’s just something special about the photos I am able to create there. The light, the stone on the hotel, the stairs running all around the grounds… I adore shooting there.
Thanks to Carrie and Ashley for meeting us at the Ashdown Park and I am looking forward to your big day!
Last weekend the weather was so lovely and I was so happy that I had a wedding to photograph in Forest Row. Just a hop skip and a jump away from where I live in Ashurst Wood, the Forest Row Church is ideal for me to get to. It’s also one of the most charming churches I’ve been to in this area.
The ceremony was very nice and afterwards the reception at The Griffin Inn in Fletching was marked by more good weather and the resulting images speak for themselves.
Both my wife (and assistant) and I had a terrific day shooting and I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them.
On a lovely sunny summer’s day there is no better place to visit than Wakehurst Place. And there is no better place to do an engagement shoot than Wakehurst. I have done several there this summer and it is becoming my favorite go-to engagement shoot location.
Having done so many this year it gives me intimate knowledge on where the best places to shoot within the National Trust property are. This standardization means the quality stays high and I have less, “hmmm… where shall we go next” moments.
Ben and Kim were total stars and followed direction very well. They were a breeze to work with and I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding.
Enjoy the shots!
